Essen Spiel 2022 is over, and wow, what an event! Meeting so many people from all over the world is such an amazing experience. Everyone was so enthusiastic and friendly (and patient with our extremely busy booth), it was a joy to be back!
We had an absolutely amazing time showing our games, a huge thank you to everyone who came to try, buy, or just say hi 👋
Encyclopedia is our next big retail release, and was most definitely the star game on our booth, with hundreds of demos played over the course of the event. It will be arriving in stores very soon, so keep at watch out for it hitting shelves in your local game store!
Copan: Dying City is our next crowdfunding project, and we were offering a short (and pretty brutal) demo version of the game for you to try! This challenging worker placement game with a reverse difficulty curve is definitely not for the faint hearted. The feedback we received was awesome, and we can’t wait to bring the game to Kickstarter at the end of October.
Our sleeper hit of Essen Spiel was most definitely Museum: Pictura! It was on Kickstarter in 2020 and arrived in retail in January this year, but in spite of not being our newest game our tables were constantly filled with players, and the game sold out by Friday morning!
We also happened to be showing a game that we haven’t even announced yet: Railroad Madness! This was a completely new prototype that we’re currently working on, and we brought it along to find out what you all thought. Railroad Madness is a train-themed dexterity game played in real time, and we had so much fun demoing it, a big thank you to all those who came by to give it a try! More information about this one coming soon.
This year was our biggest booth ever, and we had an absolutely fantastic demo team with us. We had lots of fun, and lots of food. Probably too much. A massive thank you to Andrew, Duke, Daniel, Andy, Kris, Quentin and Riccardo for all their hard work.
We also had some of our game authors with us! Thank you to Olivier Melison (one of the authors of Encyclopedia, Museum and Dominations: Road to Civilization) and Matthieu Podevin (author of Titan and Caesar’s Empire) for stopping by.
We can’t wait to come back for Essen Spiel 2023!
